AVON – Police say a 17-year-old girl was assaulted and threatened with a knife early Thursday morning by a man who had been staying with her family.
RaShawn T. Harrison, 23, of Patterson, N.J., was arrested on charges of terrorizing, assault and criminal threatening after an attack in the girl’s bedroom on Cross Road.
State Trooper Scott Nichols said Harrison, who had been staying with the family for the past six weeks, entered the girl’s bedroom early Thursday. There was no proof of sexual assault but she struggled with him, screamed and fought him off. Her mother responded to her screams and called police, he said.
Nichols, Trooper Scott Dalton and Franklin County sheriff deputies Steve Charles and Ken Charles responded to the 4 a.m. call. Nichols said Harrison was cooperative when they arrived.
He is being held at Franklin County Detention Center.
