LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on March 19 with 35 members present. Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members and the men and women in the Armed Forces.
Mary Groleau led in singing “Let There Be Peace on Earth.” Marilyn Desoto was reported on the sick list this week.
Tom Stevenson explained the 2007 Farm Share Program. He said from late June until late October seniors will be able to go to his farm stand on Route 219 and get fresh vegetables. Many members signed up to receive the papers necessary to learn if they qualify for the program.
On Monday, March 26, the monthly SeniorsPlus meal will be served. The menu will be turkey w/gravy, whipped potato, winter squash, bread sticks and tapioca pudding.
Elvina Miller was observing her birthday and members sang “Happy Birthday” to her. The 50-50 was won by Alice Demoras. The meeting adjourned, after which a Chinese auction was held and cards and games played.
