Dear Sun Spots: Would you or anyone know where I can get a wig? I’m taking scalp treatments and am seeking an inexpensive wig that I could use when going grocery shopping, etc. Thanks for any help. – L. Grant, Auburn.

Answer:
Having verified you are not seeking a wig due to chemotherapy treatments, Sun Spots has located the following resources that will hopefully assist you. For starters, you might consider contacting local Maine companies:

• Hair Looks International By Solange, Market Place Mall, 675 Main St., Lewiston 04240, 782-3059. They carry some inexpensive wigs and are open Mondays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Crown of Beauty Wig & Hair Salon, Route 133, 1285 Franklin Road, Jay, 04239, 645-3772. They carry wigs, hair extensions and clip-on extensions and you should contact them for more details. They are open Monday to Friday and Saturdays for proms and weddings. They are closed Thursdays. Call them for more information.

• Madeline’s Hair Replacement Clinic, 15 Buxton Road, Saco, ME 04072, 282-1321, 800-282-1321. Sun Spots used Madeline’s when undergoing chemo treatment seven years ago, and loved her chic wig from the time she used it. It was worth seeing the surprise on her oncologist’s face when he saw the full head of natural hair where there should have been none.

• The Wig Company, P.O. Box 12950, Pittsburgh, PA 15241-0950, 800-245-6288. They are open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also locate them online at http://thewigcompany.com.

• The Wig Shop, 128 Campanelli Drive, Brockton, MA 02301, 800-689-2587, www.wigshop.com. They are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. You can also contact them via e-mail at CustomerService@WigShop.com.

Dear Sun Spots: You ran an inquiry in February where a reader was seeking listings of bus companies heading to the Bangor Casino. Unfortunately, my company – Randy’s Tours – was not listed among those offering the trip.

Please let your readers know that our bus leaves Lewiston every Wednesday around 7 a.m. arriving in Bangor around 9 a.m. and leaving there at 2 p.m. The cost is $20 per person and includes a meal coupon as well as frequent gifts and drawings on the ride up.

I can be reached via cell phone at 215-4625 or 268-9224. – Randall Jennings, No Town.
