LEWISTON – Raymond L. Viger, 65, of Congress Street, Rumford, passed on peacefully at Central Maine Medical Center on Tuesday, March 20, with his family by his side.

He was born in Rumford on July 18, 1941, a son of Raymond A. and Mary H. (Stoklas) Viger. Raymond attended local schools and graduated from Stephens High School in 1960.

He was employed for many years in the hotel industry from Maine to Florida.

Raymond was an avid sports fan, playing baseball throughout high school and for the American Legion and local town teams.

He enjoyed cooking and playing cribbage.

Raymond is survived by a son, Torrey Mason Viger, and his wife, Suzanne, of Enfield, N.H.; three brothers, Lawrence Viger, and his wife, Angela, of Bronxville, N.Y., Edmund Viger, and his wife, Susan, of Rumford, and Dr. Ronald Viger, of Boston, Mass.; two sisters, Mary Anne Armstrong, and husband, Joshua, of Mechanic Falls, and Anna Marie Cushman and her husband, Timothy, of Denmark; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a son, Scott Louis Viger.
