Paul Kuritz is a proud father, and I commend him for supporting his son, Spc. James Kuritz, with respect to the Sun Journal’s article “I don’t want to go back” (March 16). His guest column (March 20) seems to be very thorough, so no need for further comments from me.

However, I sincerely feel that the Sun Journal owes both Kuritz and his son, as well as readers, a written reply to that guest column, which should be published telling the Sun Journal’s side of the story.

The account of Spc. Kuritz’s recognition at the Maine State House, which was also in the March 20 paper, makes me proud of the efforts of our military. It would have been more positive for the Sun Journal, as an indication of its support of the nation’s military, if that article had been printed at an earlier date. That recognition was reported in the May 8 edition of the Twin City Times – 12 days earlier.
