FARMINGTON – Mary Burbank Esty, 87, of Wilton, died early Saturday morning, March 24, at Franklin Memorial Hospital after a short stay.

She was born Nov. 30, 1919, a daughter of Willard and Ida (Withee) Burbank.

She attended Wilton schools and lived in Wilton all of her life.

On March 28, 1938, she married Ralston E. Esty. He died April 29, 1974.

She worked at the Wilton Woolen Co. for many years and later at Norwock Shoe for over 30 years. She also worked as a home health aide for many years in Wilton and the surrounding area.

She enjoyed painting and took lessons from Anna Kershner.

She enjoyed her family, her home, especially her sun porch, going for rides, and working in her flower gardens.

She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Nile and her husband, Dick, of Wilton; Sherian Judd and her husband, John, of Livermore Falls; a son, Steve Esty of Jay; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Esty; a brother, Almont Burbank and his wife, Kathleen, of Wilton; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years; a son, Henry Allen, in 2002; and a special friend, Kennett Atwood.
