LEWISTON – Doriane A. Doyon, 79, of 12 Fox Run Drive, Lewiston, died March 25, at the d’Youville Pavilion.
Born in Lewiston, Nov. 21, 1927, she was the daughter of Emile and Henedine Gagne Poulin. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic grade school in Lewiston, the Academy of St. Joseph in South Berwick, and graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn. On May 7, 1949, she married Rene L. Doyon. A bookkeeper, her first job was at Shepley Paul Insurance Agency. She then worked for Lown Heel Company for several years, and then became the fiscal officer for the Lewiston Head Start program until her retirement. Following her retirement, she and her husband spent several winters in Daytona Beach, Fla.
She enjoyed taking care of her family, sewing, golfing, line dancing and speed-walking. She was a volunteer at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Services in Lewiston for several years.
Survivors include her husband of Lewiston; two sons, Larry and wife, Sue Doyon, of Mt. Jewett, Pa., and David Doyon of Pembroke, N.H.; a daughter, Peggy and husband, Steve Collier, of Ozawkie, Kan.; two sisters, Marielle St. Hilare of Lewiston, and Liette LeBrasseur, of Lewiston; two granddaughters; one grandson; and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Real Poulin; and two sisters, Cecile Michaud and Yolande Mercier.
