LEWISTON – Frederick Cooper, 85, of Poland, began a new life in heaven, Sunday morning, March 25, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Attleboro, Mass., Aug. 25, 1921, to John and Clara Cooper. He graduated from Attleboro High School.
He became a shoe cobbler but ultimately became a self-employed metal spinner, which he did for 50-plus years. He married Doris E. Cleveland in 1942, and remained married to her for 65 years. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1943, where he became a radio operator. He remained in the service until 1945. He moved with his family to Poland, in 1985. He was an avid camper and fisherman. He enjoyed these activities with his wife and two daughters. He also participated in Revolutionary War re-enacting for many years. He attended the Vineyard Christian Fellowship and he loved the Lord with all his heart.
He is survived by his wife Doris; two daughters, Cindy and her husband, Rodney, and Jodi and her boyfriend, Paul; four grandsons and their wives; and seven great-grandchildren. He loved them all dearly. He will be missed by all who knew him.
