WINTHROP – Therese T. Parent, 89, of Welch’s Point Road, died March 25, at Hospice House in Auburn, following a long illness.

She was born in Somersworth, N.H., June 24, 1917, a daughter of the late Alex J. and Blanche (Nadeau) Turcotte.

She was a 1936 graduate of Cony High School in Augusta, and a 1940 graduate of St. Joseph’s College, receiving a Bachelors Degree in Education.

She had been employed by the Internal Revenue Service for 31 years as a personnel assistant.

She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, a member and past president of the St. Francis Woman’s Club, Council of Catholic Woman, both district and state, the St. Agnes Circle Daughters of Isabella, East Winthrop Thursday Club, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the American Association of Retired Persons.

She is survived by a sister, Lucienne Beaulieu of Phoenix, Ariz.; her close friend, Roger Patry of Lewiston; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Christopher Leo Parent, in 1956; and two sisters, Juliette Haney and Rita Couch.
