Norway – William D. Andrews, author of Stealing History, a Maine mystery set at a busy historical society and museum, and Trudy Chambers Price, author of the popular memoir, The Cows Are Out! Two Decades on a Maine Dairy Farm, will sign copies of their books from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Books N Things in Norway. The store is located at 430 Main Street.

Both books were published by New Gloucester-based Islandport Press.

Infused with history and delightful characters, Stealing History is sure to enthrall mystery fans who have a fondness for Maine. The suspense begins soon after newcomer Julie Williamson takes the job as director at the historical society in a Maine mountain town. Some of the museum’s most valuable artifacts, including a letter from Abraham Lincoln to Hannibal Hamlin, quickly turn up missing. And, when a murder hits especially close to home for Julie, she becomes embroiled in an ever-widening and complex mystery. Andrews weaves details of Maine life into a thrilling tale that will keep readers guessing up until the last page. Andrews is the former president of Westbrook College in Portland. Now a consultant, freelance editor and writer, he divides his time between Newry and Portland.

In The Cows are Out!, Price, of Brunswick, captures the daily joys and struggles of the family dairy farm. She and her husband raised two sons and hundreds of cows on Craneland Farm in Knox. The work was never-ending and exhausting, but it also was often exhilarating and rewarding. Price writes of the trials of haying and breeding and milking cows against a backdrop of gentle rural life. She introduces kind and eccentric neighbors, visiting city folk and beloved pets. The result is a realistic and intimate look at a farmer’s struggle to succeed. Bittersweet and oftentimes laugh-out-loud funny, it’s a book for everyone who cares about Maine and its people.
