FARMINGTON – Emily F. Huntington, 85, of Canton, died Tuesday, March 27, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, where she had been a patient for a day.

She was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Jay, a daughter of David and Lillian (Wright) Jeffers. She was educated in the schools of Leeds.

In 1944 she married Winfield Huntington in Phillips, and he died Oct. 16, 1964. She made her home in Phillips, Leeds, Livermore Falls, Turner, and for the past 30 years had made her home at The Canton Nursing Home, now known as The Victorian Villa Rehabilitation and Living Center in Canton, where she spent many hours helping the patients and staff, and was awarded a certificate for her voluntary work.

She was a member of the North Livermore Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading the newspaper, especially the Livermore Falls Advertiser, and working jigsaw puzzles. She was one of the first to sign up for the Victorian Ladies Red Hat Chapter. Her favorite activities included outings to the Farmington Fair, shopping trips to Wal-Mart, lunch at McDonalds and games of zap, bingo and penny ante. She also enjoyed picking berries and family gatherings.

She is survived by relatives, Velma Cousineau of Strong, Mertie Abbott of Phillips, Betty Bredeau of Phillips, Jean Carlow of Strong and Marion Everett of Manchester, N.H.; half-sister, Geneva Coates of Livermore Falls; cousin, Louise Driscott of Wayne; and friend, Abbie Tracy of West Mills.
