WILTON – Evolyn Kyes Morison, 91, a resident of Weld Road in Wilton, died Wednesday, March 28, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Jay, the daughter of Harold L. and Susan A. (Whittemore) Kyes. She attended Wilton schools, graduating from Wilton Academy in the Class of 1932. She studied Early American decorating and was accepted into the Esther Stevens Brazer guild, and taught art for 18 years.

She married Keene H. Morison in 1935. He passed away on March 1, 1998. She was a member of the Wilson Lake Country Club, where she held the Ladies Club Championship title 31 times. She was also a member of the Women’s Maine State Golf Association, serving as president in 1953 and 1954, having served on the executive board of the association since 1948. She was one of 12 from the New England states who established the New England Women’s Golf Association. She participated in Maine, New England and Canadian Golf tournaments and was inducted into the Maine Golf Hall of Fame in 1996. She also served on the board of trustees of the Franklin Memorial Hospital for eight years.

She is survived by a son, Alan K. Morison and his wife, Mary Lou, of Wilton; a grandson, David S. Morison and his wife, Lisa, of Bellingham, Wash.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Jeffrey (Kimberly) Turner of Gorham; great-grandchildren, Kiersten M. and Dylan L. Turner; and a sister, Kathryn Mayo of Bedford, N.H.

She was predeceased by a son, David K. Morison in 1943.
