LEWISTON – The Lewiston Area Youth Hockey League will be sponsoring Midget Minor (1991-1992) and Midget Major (1990-1989) teams in the fall.

According to Bob Parker, who will coach the Minor team, “We are offering this to allow our Midget age players the opportunity to play Midget hockey in Lewiston, and not have to travel. The schedule will be one full ice practice per week and one game on either Saturday or Sunday. This will allow the players to continue with a fall sport and still keep their hockey skills,” he added.

The Lewiston teams will compete in the Maine State Tier I divisions. Team name will be L/A Midgets, Minors in white and Majors in red. Greg Bourgoin will coach the Major club.

Tryouts are planned for April 10 at the Lewiston Colisee, Minors at 6:50 p.m., and Majors at 8 p.m. Tryout fee is $15.

The season will start around August 13 and end the week of November 5. Cost per player will be approximately $450-$500. More information is available by calling Ray Teixeira (Midget director) at 375-8533, or cell phone at 754-4150.
