AUBURN – The Park Street School Library received a check for $100 recently from Pine Cone Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Reading is a special project for this year’s OES Grand Family, and the subordinate chapters made it a priority as well.

“Pine Cone Chapter is made up of parents, grandparents and neighbors who care about children,” said Pine Cone Worthy Matron Kathy Williamson. “Promoting reading is one way that we can help our kids grow.”

The Order of the Eastern Star is the largest organization in the world to which both men and women can belong. Eastern Star supports local charities, including Masonic learning centers for children with dyslexia and a scholarship fund for seminary students.
