SOUTH PARIS – The Oxford Hills Middle School wrestling team finished fourth out of 11 teams at the recent Regional Wrestling Tournament held at Nokomis High School in Newport.

OHMS accumulated 118 points, just 9.5 points behind third place Mt. Ararat. Mountain Valley won the event, followed by Sugg of Lisbon.

Two OHMS members wound up as regional champions. They were Kyle McAllister, beating Kyle Foyt-Bridges of Monmouth, and John Flanders, defeating Zack Green of Sugg. Finishing in second place were D.J. Curtis, falling to Taylor Bradley of Mountain Valley, and the only girl on the team, Kacey McAllister being beaten by Josh Thornton of MV. Finishing in third place was Paul Bedard, defeating Dan Constantino of Sugg. Taking a fourth place finish were Kam Arnold, falling to Stefan Emery of Fryeburg; Nick Pollard knocked off by Jake Dowland of Dirigo; and Chris Fritz, being defeated by Ryan Morgan of Oak Hill.

The top four finishers in each weight class qualify for the league championships to be held Satuday, March 31.

Others competing for OHMS were Austin Chute and Fred Sterns. The team is coached by Tony Stevens.
