WILTON – Terry Warren and Robert Cole resigned and Ed Leahy retired from the Wilton Police Department, according to separation agreements between the town and each of the three officers.

Under the agreements, the town will provide each with a retired badge and Warren and Cole’s personnel file will reflect that they have resigned. Leahy’s file will reflect that he has retired from the department.

Each agreed that neither he nor his union shall file or pursue any grievances against the town and will withdraw any and all grievances they currently have pending with the town. The town, in turn, will not pursue any claims of charges against each of the officers.

The agreement also contains the amount of accrued benefits as of the separation date: The town agreed to pay Warren the net amount of $6,508.22 less any deductions and taxes, Leahy the about of $10,966.31 and Cole the amount of $7,920.47.

Cole and Warren’s agreements were signed by them on March 26 and Leahy’s on March 27. The agreements also state that if they officers sign the agreement, they have seven days to cancel it if they choose to, and that it is not effective until the eighth day.
