WINTHROP – The wedding of Kara Marie Pushard and Joshua Brian Bubier was held Sept. 23 on the shore of Maranacook Lake at Norcross Point in Winthrop. Mike Flynn officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Bubier is the daughter of Tina Pushard of Monmouth and Kim Pushard of Gardiner. Mr. Bubier is the son of Brian and Lisa Bubier of Monmouth.

The bride wore a strapless formal gown with beading and pearls on the bodice, around the waist and on the train, and with buttons all along the back. She carried a bouquet of white roses, burgundy miniature carnations and greens.

A sister of the bride, Erica Pushard, served as honor attendant, and bridesmaids were Bekah Bubier and Sarah Bubier, sisters-in-law, Sarah Stuart, college friend, Marissa Tardif and Allison Ledoux, friends, and Katie Patrick, cousin.

Performing the duties of best man was Tim Burnham, friend, and ushers were Ben Alden, Steve Alden and Ryan Giroux, cousins, and Matt Howard, Kris MacCabe and Pete Rosen, friends. Declan Giroux, cousin, was ring bearer.

A reception followed at the Senator Inn in Augusta. The couple is residing in their new home in Skowhegan.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Monmouth Academy and a 2005 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington. She is a third grade teacher at St. Albans Consolidated School.

The bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Monmouth Academy and a 2005 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono. He is employed as a forest technician for the state of Maine Parks and Recreation.
