RUMFORD – Albert J. Cyr Sr., 77, died Sunday, April 1, at his residence on Falmouth Street in Rumford.

Born in Mexico, April 14, 1929, he was a son of Frank X. and Alma (Duguay) Cyr. He was a graduate of Mexico High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He was a self employed carpenter in the area for many years. He was a member of the A.M.V.E.T.S.

He was married in Rumford to Joan Petrie, who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include a son, Albert Cyr Jr. of Rumford; daughters, Susan Kolek of Dracut, Mass., and Laurie Gorgon of Salem, N.H.; stepchildren, Linda Fillds of Rumford, Catherine Derouche of Mexico, Jennifer Turbide of Limerick and Gerald Daigle of Dixfield; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
