Lewiston – Frances D. Bishop, 64, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 31, with her loving family at her side. Fran, a dedicated wife, mother, and sister, who always put her family and friends first, had valiantly battled lung cancer over the past 10 months.

She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 28, 1943, the daughter of Bella Lena and Robert Vye. She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1961, and married her high school sweetheart, Robert Bishop Jr., that fall. Shortly after, they moved to Rumford where they lived for 32 years. After multiple years in the workplace, she dedicated herself to her husband and children during which time she was known as a first class hockey mom. Once her children were grown, she started her own real estate business where she worked until moving back to Lewiston with her husband 10 years ago.

Over the years she enjoyed visiting the coast, where she collected seashells with her grandchildren, boating with her husband, playing with her dog, Duke, and watching TV with her cats, Chiqui and Abby. Every year she hosted holiday meals for her children and grandchildren. Her house was a place where everyone was welcome.

She is survived by her husband of more than 45 years, Robert Bishop Jr.; two children, Mike Bishop and former spouse, Karen Bishop, both of Bowdoin, and Treena Bishop and husband, Jeremy Davis, of La Paz, Bolivia; grandchildren, Brianna and Ben Bishop, and Connor Davis; brothers, Bobby Footman and wife, Shirley, and Gary Vye and wife, Nadine; sisters, Faith Footman, Mary Leonas and husband, Frank, and Jill Arsenault and husband, Danny.

She was predeceased by her brother, Randy Vye.
