MEXICO – James Hodgkin, SAD 43 superintendent, was the featured speaker at the March 13 meeting of the Oxford County Republican Committee held at the Mexico Congregational Church, Main Street.

Hodgkin spoke on the governor’s proposal to consolidate school administrations throughout the state into a smaller number of units.

Chairman Dan Bolling announced that the Lincoln Day Dinner on Feb. 24 was successful in raising funds for the county committee. State Committee Women Becky Kendall reported on the recent state committee meeting in Augusta, where stress was placed on strengthening the town committees.

Scott Moody, vice president of policy and chief economist of the Maine Heritage Policy Center in Portland, will be the featured speaker at a 5:30 p.m. Oxford County Republican Committee meeting on Tuesday, April 10, at the Congregational Church. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

The dinner will be followed by the speaker and a brief business meeting. All area Republicans are invited.
