CANTON – Carolyn Faye Campbell of Canton was recently selected to participate in Nationals’ 2007 Miss Pre-Teen Portland pageant competition that will take place on April 22.
Campbell submitted an application and took part in an interview session that was conducted by Patty Neidert, Portland pageant coordinator.
Campbell will compete for more than $20,000 in prizes and specialty gifts. She will compete in the Miss Pre-Teen Division, one of three divisions that will have young ladies between the ages of 10 and 19 competing in modeling routines that include casual wear and formal wear.
Campbell will display her personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year’s Portland judging panel. Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.
If she were to win the title of Miss Pre-Teen Portland, she would represent Portland and the surrounding communities at the Cities of America National Competition in Orlando, Fla., when more than $60,000 in prizes and awards will be presented.
Any business, organization, or private individual who may be interested in becoming a sponsor may contact Neidert at 1-800-569-2487.
Campbell, 10, is an honor student at T.W. Kelly Dirigo Middle School. She enjoys gymnastics, drama club, chorus and spending time with her family.
