AVON PARK, Fla – Clara M. Davis, 100, of Avon Park, Fla., and New Sharon, died Tuesday, March 27, in Avon Park, Fla.

She was born June 18, 1906, in Harrison, a daughter of Jesse G. and Mabel (Kimball) Lewis. She attended Harrison schools.

On July 13, 1925, she married George A. Davis in Naples, and they shared 70 years of marriage. They made their home in New Sharon, where they owned and operated the family farm, Silver Valley Farms.

She was a tremendously hard-working woman and homemaker for her husband and children, who she put before everything else in her life.

She was a member of the O.E.S. in New Sharon, served as a 4-H Leader and worked with the Franklin County Extension.

She enjoyed fancy work, oil painting, golf, bowling and shuffleboard. In her sunset years, her most beloved time was spent with her children, particularly in the sharing of scripture readings.

She will be always be remembered as a very caring and loving woman who loved life.

She is survived by her children, Gloria Wadsworth and her husband, Carroll Jr., of South Paris, Richard Davis and his wife, Cathy, of Avon Park, Fla., and New Sharon, Carolyn Farrington of Norridgewock, and James J. Davis and his wife, Maritza, of Avon Park, Fla.; a sister, Dorothy Brown of California; a sister-in-law, Helen Lewis of Harrison; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, George A. Davis, on Feb. 2, 1996; an infant son, James Kevin Davis; and siblings, Wil, Georgia, Ruth, Mary, Jessie, Leon, Oscar, Roger and Earl.
