NORWAY – Michael Hatch has been appointed as safety and security officer for Western Maine Health.
Most recently, Hatch served as a machinist at Dearborn Precision Tubular Products in Fryeburg. In his new position at WMH, he will be working on the development and coordination of plans regarding environmental, safety, emergency management and security policies and procedures in accordance with the federal, state, OSHA and NIOSH regulations. He will work with senior managers and department managers to develop department specific procedures, and with others in emergency planning.
Hatch is an Emergency Management Agency/Local Emergency Planning Committee instructor for hazardous materials response, incident command and citizen emergency response teams as well as a hazardous materials technician with the Bridgton Regional Response Team. He also serves as the assistant fire chief of Brownfield, and is an EMT-intermediate with Fryeburg Rescue.
Hatch grew up in Portland and resides in Brownfield.
