LIVERMORE FALLS – Selectmen meeting Monday night approved the renewal of liquor and other licenses for the Riverview Pub on Depot Street.
Last year, when Wes Bowen’s license renewals came up, the decision on town permits was put off until the pub owner and town officials developed a list of ways to improve the environment there.
Police had said they were called to the bar too many times for assaults and other complaints last year and didn’t have the staffing to continue responding.
Town Manager Martin Puckett said Tuesday that police reported to selectmen on Monday that there were no problems, no violations at the pub.
Besides the town’s approval of the liquor license renewal, which is granted by the state, selectmen also approved town permits for special amusement, pool table and coin-operated machinery, Puckett said.
Puckett also said the budget review is expected to be wrapped up on Monday, April 9.
Selectmen and Budget Committee members will then review their findings and get budget proposals together for 2007-08, that will go to a public information meeting before both boards finalize their recommendations to voters.
For the first time, Livermore Falls residents will decide the town government operation costs by secret ballot at the polls on Tuesday, June 12.
