Hundreds of area residents filled the conference center at the Ramada Inn , Lewiston, on Wednesday to taste some of the best chowder and chili provided from area restaurants. The annual event was a fundraiser to benefit the James B. Longley Elementary School. Winners were:

Best display: First, DaVinci’s Eatery, Lewiston; second, Governor’s Restaurant, Lewiston; third, Rolly’s Diner, Auburn.

Chili People’s Choice Award: First, Rolly’s Diner; second, Antonio’s New York Deli, Lewiston; third, Youly’s Family Restaurant, Turner.

Chili Judges’ Award: First, a tie between Saddleback Ski Resort, Rangeley and Governor’s Restaurant; second, Fast Breaks Restaurant, Lewiston; third, Poppy’s Catering, Lisbon.

Chowder People’s Choice Award: First, Always Fresh Larochelle Seafood, Auburn; second, Village Inn Restaurant and Lounge, Auburn; third, Deshaie’s Lobster Salad, Lewiston.

Chowder Judges’ Award: First, Village Inn and Lounge; second, Always Fresh Seafood; third, Patrick’s Burritos Bistro & Deli, Lewiston.
