LIVERMORE FALLS – No one was injured when the driver of a car lost control on Park Street in Wednesday night’s storm, crossed the center line into the opposite lane and crashed head-on into another vehicle, police said.
Joseph Crocker, 27, of Livermore Falls hit some deep slush and drifted into the oncoming lane, where his vehicle struck a car driven by Eleanor Schneid, 56, of Winthrop, officer Maurice Drouin said.
Crocker’s car spun around and ended up coming to rest across both lanes. Schneid’s car slid onto the shoulder of the southbound lane, he said.
Investigating officer Ken Bryant estimated about $8,000 damage was done to the front-end of Crocker’s 2002 Subaru Impreza, Drouin said.
Bryant also estimated $8,000 damage was done to Schneid’s 2000 Subaru Impreza to the left front, left side and bottom, he said.
Both vehicles had to be towed.
