FARMINGTON – The chairman of the SAD 58 Board of Directors, Gerald “Mike” Pond, has requested a jury trial to answer a charge of assault and another for terrorizing.
Police arrested Pond in Farmington in January after they responded to a domestic violence incident, court documents show.
Pond, 52, of Strong, was arrested by police officer Mary Pratt on Jan. 11 and released from the Franklin County Jail the same day on $3,000 unsecured bail.
This week, Pond’s lawyer, Donald Brown of Brewer, requested the charges go before a jury.
From what he knows of his client, “…he appears to be a solid kind of guy,” Brown said.
Attempts to reach Pond for comment were unsuccessful Thursday.
