Shame on the Sun Journal’s decision to publish (March 31) the photograph of the murder scene in Auburn. The caption stated “The Sun Journal realizes the material is graphic and disturbing.” That is an understatement.

Most disturbing is the fact that editors chose to publish the photo at all.

There is zero newsworthiness in a photograph showing a woman lying dead in her yard. While the television news coverage was in poor taste describing the woman as shot and “decapitated,” the Sun Journal’s lack of common sense and human decency is deplorable, to say the least.

A front-page apology to the woman’s family, friends and Sun Journal readers in general should be forthcoming.
