LEWISTON – Juliette A. Gagnon, 97, died Monday, April 2, at Montello Manor in Lewiston.
Born in Lewiston on June 12, 1909, she was the daughter of Auguste and Marie Jacob Gagnon. She attended Saints Peter & Paul School in Lewiston, and then went to work in the local shoe industry.
In 1962, she became a housekeeper for the priest at the Notre Dame Rectory in Springvale, and in 1968 she transferred to St. Joseph’s Rectory in Gardiner. After retiring in 1972, she established her residence in the Sanford/Springvale area. Her hobbies included writing letters and reading, and she was an accomplished tatter.
Survivors include a sister, Andrea Poirier; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Denis, Robert, Origene and Rosaire; and two sisters, Jeanne LeBel and Florence Verville.
