AUBURN – Arlene Florence Hill, 71, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on April 6.

She was born in Lewiston on June 19, 1935, a daughter of the late Delbert and Alberta (Blanchette) Timberlake.

She was a graduate of Leavitt Area High School and of St. Mary’s School for Nursing.

She later joined the U.S. Air Force and served as an officer and as a nurse for three years.

She worked as an R.N. at Russell Manor Park for many years. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Auburn.

She greatly enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sewing and crocheting, reading, cooking and collecting things such as beanie babies and Santa’s.

Arlene was a very loving and giving person. She loved to help people. She volunteered in her younger years and she was hoping to volunteer during her retirement for a needy cause but was unable to due to her health situation.

She loved to keep busy and was always on the go.

She is survived by her four children, Lynne Hill of Lewiston, Amy Hill of Augusta, Matt Hill of Rockland, and Mike Hill and wife, Catherine, of Mt. Arlington, N.J.; her two brothers, Roger Timberlake of Livermore and Raymond Timberlake and wife, Elsa, of Cyprus, Calif.; her loving cat, Sammy; as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.
