Lewiston – Andrew Anthony Doboga, 77, of Forbes Road, Lisbon Falls, died Sunday April 8, at St. Mary’s Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born in Lisbon Falls, Aug. 8, 1929, the son of Andrew and Mary Adams Doboga. He was educated in Lisbon schools, and on April 18, 1951, married the former Rae Morong. He served in the United States Navy and retired as Chief Petty Officer after 22 years of service, having served during the Korean War. After his service to his country he worked for 18 years for I.B.M., in Portland, and later five years at the Lisbon Community Family Credit Union where he also served as past president. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 158 of Lisbon, the V.F.W. of Lisbon, and past president of the Slovak Catholic Association.
He was an avid outdoorsman having enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing pool, having been a member of the Androscoggin Valley League. He was also a huge Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching all the games.
He is survived by his wife, Rae Doboga of Lisbon Falls; his daughter, Nancy Doboga of Atlanta Ga.; and his son, Mark Doboga and his wife, Brenda, of Woodbridge Va. He also leaves his grandson, Evan Doboga of Woodbridge, Va.; and one sister, Madelyn Levesque of Lisbon Falls.
He was predeceased by one brother, Ben Doboga.
