Grange program
AUBURN – Danville Junction Grange will hold an open meeting in conjunction with National Grange Week on Thursday, April 12, at the hall. A dessert will be served at 6 p.m. and the program will begin at 7.
Special music will be provided by Mitch Thomas, area entertainer. Several membership certificates will be presented by Maine State Deputy Wes Ryder. Appreciation awards will also be given. There will be a skit, music and fellowship. The public is invited.
Dinner, meeting
LEEDS – The Androscoggin Retired Educators Association will meet on Wednesday, April 11, at the Leeds Community Church. A business meeting will be held at 11 a.m. when annual committee reports will be given. Members should bring a tally of their volunteer hours so that they can be presented at the state convention in May.
A turkey dinner, with cake for dessert, will be served at noon by the women of the church. The cost is $8. Send reservations and checks to Patricia McCluskey, 139 East Shore Road, Peru, ME 04290.
The after-lunch program will be a Readers’ Theater, directed by Hugh Keene.
Council to meet
AUBURN – Members of Twin City Council 160, United Commercial Travelers of America, will hold a dinner meeting at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Marco’s Restaurant. All members and guests are invited.
DAR luncheon
BOWDOIN – Regent Sheila Desgrosseilliers has announced that Burnt Meadow Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will entertain DAR Good Citizen and Good Citizenship medal recipients and their parents at a noon luncheon on Saturday, April 14, at the home of Corley Anne Byras. The guest speaker will be Paula Allen of South Portland, state DAR national defense chairwoman.
Health screenings
LEWISTON – Prevention and Wellness at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center is sponsoring a Take Charge! cardiovascular health risk screening from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, at the Lepage Conference Room, 99 Campus Ave.
The program tests total cholesterol, HDL, blood pressure, sleep habits, body mass index, smoking impact and physical activity level. Participants receive a report on the results and recommendations on ways to improve their health, at a cost of $20.

Fundraiser
GRAY – A scholarship fundraiser will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at the American Legion Post 86, Route 100. The scholarship will honor Daniel Cunningham, who died in Iraq in April 2003. There will be flea market tables for $15. They can be reserve by calling Rick at 689-5137 or Pjaye at 797-7970
