Fest donations
MEXICO – The Moontide Water Festival Committee will ask donations from people who shop at Wal-Mart from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, April 11 and 12.
Funds donated will be matched by the discount retailer. Moontide Committee Chairman Eddie Shurtleff said hopes are to raise about $25,000 for July 4th fireworks, and several thousand more for the day’s events. Other fundraising efforts will be held during the coming months.
Class meeting
RUMFORD – Stephens High School Class of 1943 will meet at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at the Covered Wagon. For more information, call 364-7144.
Legion meal
RUMFORD – American Legion Post 24 will serve chicken quarters, baked beans, coleslaw and dessert from 4:30 until sold out Thursday, April 12.. It is open to the public. Take-out will be available by calling ahead at 369-9053.
Trike-A-Thon
DIXFIELD – A local Trike-A-Thon to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital will be held on Thursday and Friday, April 12 and 13, at the Robbins Nest.
The Trike-A-Thon is designed to expose preschoolers to using riding toys safely through a week-long fun activity and provides an awareness program that involves the parents in safe behavior practices to help ensure their child’s well-being.

Auditions set
MEXICO – RAAPA Auditions for Dinner Theater-On April 24, RAAPA, Rumford Association for the Advancement of Performing Arts will hold auditions at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, for two one-act plays in the Lecture Hall, Mountain Valley Middle School.
The plays are “That Was No Lady, That Was a Private Eye?” and “Comin Round the Mountain.” Scripts are available in the Rumford Public Library from April 10 to 23.
The first chorus rehearsal will be held the same evening at 7 p.m. Anyone wishing to sing is encouraged to call Jeannine Murray at 562-4656 to reserve a music folder.
