Norway – Hubert L. Stearns, 80, of Norway, died Saturday, April 7, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.

He was born Dec. 15, 1926, the son of Austin and Ida (Lowell) Stearns. He was a graduate of South Paris High School, where he excelled in sports. He played semi-pro football in the Portland area and also enjoyed playing baseball. He has worked for many years as a farmer and a carpenter.

He was a board member of Oxford County Fair Association and the Paris Alumni Association.

He is survived by a son, Chris Stearns and his wife, Dawn, of South Paris; and a daughter, Kelly and her husband, Garth Greenier, of Mason, Ohio; five grandchildren, David, Travis, Danielle, Nick and Hilary.
