RUMFORD – Roberta W. Arsenault, 89, of Lincoln Avenue, died Saturday, April 7, at Rumford Community Home, with family at her side after a battle with Parkinson’s disease.

She was born in Rumford, March 2, 1918, a daughter of Joseph F. and Georgia (Ross) Connors. She was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1937.

She married Alphonse J. Arsenault on Sept. 1, 1947. He passed away on Sept. 20, 1992. She was a homemaker all of her life, raising four daughters. In earlier years, she fondly remembered working at Camp Kawanhee for Boys, and Nathan’s Clothing Store. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and was a Cursillasta.

She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, and playing card and board games. She also enjoyed watching her soap operas and jam night at the Eagles.

Surviving are four daughters, Sheila Bent and husband, Ernest, of Rumford, and triplets, Sharon and husband, Michael Madore, of Rumford, Suzanne Viger and husband, Torrey, of Enfield, N.H., and Sandra Gallant and companion, Michael Simard, of Milford, N.H.; five grandchildren, David Hamner of Waterville, Jamie Hupfer and husband, Brett, of Deering, N.H., Jessica Graham and husband Adam, of Wilton, N.H., Rachel Madore of Rumford, and Christopher Madore of Rumford; four great-grandchildren, Alan Hamner, Alicia Hamner, Nikita Caron and Xander Hupfer; as well as soon to be born, Zoe Hupfer, and her beloved dog, “Pepsi.”

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Alphonse J. Arsenault; a brother, Ross Connors; and a sister, Genevieve McLean.
