LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine will began registering for swim lessons on April 9 for YWCA members and will start on Monday, April 16, for all others.

Swim lessons are offered Monday through Thursday morning, afternoon and evenings and Saturday mornings. The YWCA offers classes for 6 months old to adult. Classes may be a half hour or an hour long, depending on level.

Classes will begin the week of April 21 and are eight weeks in duration. The cost of a half-hour class is $65 for eight weeks; an hour class, $90 for eight weeks. Participants must be members of the YWCA.

Basic membership is good for a year and allows members to participate in YWCA programs on a pay-as-you-go basis. Basic membership fees are: child, up to 12, $30; youth, age 13 to 17, $35; adult, age 18 to 59, $55; senior citizen, age 60+, $45. The YWCA also offers package memberships to include unlimited access to programs.

Private swim lessons are also available by appointment. The cost is $25 per half-hour. Participants must be members of the YWCA. To book private swim lessons, call the YWCA at 795-4050. A swim lesson schedule is available at www.ywcamaine.org or at the customer service desk.
