Lewiston – Amelia Evelyn McMahon, 90, of Schooner Estates, passed away April 10, at Central Maine Medical Center, in Lewiston.
Born Jan. 28, 1917, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., she was the daughter of James and Cora (Comey) Campbell, the youngest of seven siblings. She was educated in Poughkeepsie Schools and graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1935. She married Joseph Francis McMahon, on June 20, 1936. He died in 1999. She was a homemaker all of her life, raising one daughter and two sons. She moved to Schooner Estates in 1999, spending eight wonderful years with her many new friends. She participated in several activities there, including craft class, Pictionary, and Scrabble, as well as co-hosting coffee klatch, and showing a classic movie each week. She was also a member of Auburn Art Club.
Surviving are one daughter, Maureen and her husband, Dr. Otis Tibbetts, of Auburn; and two sons, Dr. Edward McMahon and wife, Joann, of New York state, and Brian McMahon and wife, Linda, of Washington state; also, four grandchildren, David and Andrew Tibbetts, Elizabeth Pullar and Sam McMahon; and three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah, and Jane Pullar.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; four sisters; and two brothers.
