I am saddened and outraged whenever I read or hear about my tax dollars being used to finance abortions (the killing of unborn baby boys and girls) and the gathering of stem cells from live embryos for research. I have read research that demonstrated that adult stem cells or umbilical cord stem cells are the best for such research.

Former President Jimmy Carter has stated in interviews that, “I don’t believe Jesus would approve of abortion.” And in an interview many years ago, Mother Theresa of Calcutta said, “I fear for the future of the West when mothers are killing babies in their wombs.”

I, too, fear for the future of my country when Christian politicians, including Gov. John Baldacci, advocate using tax dollars to kill the unborn.

I pray that the Legislature will vote “no” on any proposal to use tax dollars to kill the unborn.
