Rumford Patrolman Lawrence Winson, left, and Rumford Citizen Police Academy student Jason Jolin watch Timothy Tyler of Rumford, driving a red Ford F350 four-wheel drive pickup, pull a large Holiday Rambler Navigator recreational vehicle from California and its attached sport-utility vehicle up Route 2 on Falls Hill during Thursday’s snowstorm. Shortly after the photo was made the tow strap tore the front grill area off the RV. After stopping and putting that into the back of his T.T. Tree Experts pickup, Tyler proceeded to pull both vehicles up the slippery hill. During the process, Rumford police and firefighters shut down rush-hour traffic on the hill for about 30 minutes.
