NORWAY – Another potential candidate is circulating nomination papers for the annual town election.
Charles Longley has taken out papers for re-election to the Norway Memorial Library Board of Library Trustees, Town Clerk Shirley Boyce said Thursday.
Hilary Ware is circulating papers for one of the three seats on that board. Library trustees Dennis Gray, Lynette Gatchell and Longley would be up for re-election this year, however Gatchell resigned last year and Ware was appointed to fill out her term.
Four people have taken out nomination papers for two seats on the Board of Selectmen. They are incumbent Selectman Robert Walker, former Selectwoman Irene Millett, volunteer firefighter Joseph Tracey and Budget Committee member Bruce Cook.
Walker and Millett have returned their papers.
Incumbent Donald Ware has also returned nomination papers for a position on the SAD 17 Board of Directors.
Nomination papers must have the signatures of 25 registered voters and be returned to the Town Clerk’s office by April 30. There are 3,700 registered voters in town.
The election will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 12 with polls set up at the Norway Fire Station.
