The porch and part of the house at 968 Minot Ave. Auburn, were extensively damaged Thursday afternoon when a sport-utility vehicle driven by 23-year-old Jason Morrison of Auburn slammed into the home about 1 p.m. Morrison escaped serious injury, but the 2006 Jeep, registered to his mother, Sheila Morrison, sustained $22,000 damage. Police said the crash had nothing to do with a Thursday afternoon snowstorm. They said Morrison was distracted by another vehicle when he crashed into the home at Minot Avenue near Garfield Road. The house, according to police, owned by Joe Dunn of Lewiston, is an unoccupied rental property.
