PORTLAND – The Portland Boxing Club team travels to Portland, Oregon on April 19 for the third annual Portland vs Portland showdown. The Mainers shocked the Oregon team last year, 6-1, coming close to a sweep, losing only one close decision.

The matches will take place at the Governor’s Hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon. Tickets are selling for over $300.

In addition to the Portland trip, club member Jorge Abiague, New England Golden Gloves champ, will travel to Chatanooga, Tenn., April 28 through May 5 for the 2007 National Golden Gloves Championships.

Middleweight Russell Lamour will compete in the 2007 Eastern Olympic Trials to be held May 6-12 at Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Welterweight Lisa Kuronya and Flyweight Abiague will travel to Colorado Springs for the U.S. National Championships, June 1-7.
