WATERFORD – Granville “Bud” F. Hill of Waterford passed away Thursday, April 12, at his home in Waterford, from recurring cancer.

Granville was born June 20, 1940, in Lewiston, son of Harold F. Hill and Marion Judkins Hill.

He was self-employed for many years in the heavy equipment and welding industries.

For several years during the ’60s and ’70s, Bud raced a stock car at Oxford Plains Speedway. In more recent years, he took pleasure in going to Florida in the winter – enjoying not only the warm weather but horse races. He was a fierce foe at cribbage. Many a partner lined up to enjoy a dance with him.

He is survived by his special companion, Ruthie, with whom he shared the last 10 years and who cared for him during his illness; two sons, Gary Lee of Waterford, and Rawn Eric of South Paris; two grandsons, Levi of Waterford, and Kendall of North Norway; and a special daughter-in-law, Vicky, of North Norway.

He will be greatly missed by his sisters, Cynthia Curtis of Spokane, Wash., Marilyn Bailey of Bakersville, N.C., Rosetta Milliken of Windham, and Lenora Burke of Brunswick. He also leaves six nieces and seven nephews, who loved their “Uncle Buddy.”
