WESTBROOK – Harold W. Smith, a resident of Lisbon most of his life, passed away Wednesday, April 11, after a lengthy illness.

Born Aug 29, 1934, in Lowell, Mass., he was the son of Harold and Grace Smith. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1960.

He worked for many years as a master electrician, holding licenses in several states. He retired from Cianbro in 2002, due to illness.

He is survived by four stepchildren, Donna McDonnell and husband, Joe, of Westbrook, Leonard Douglas of Ellington, Conn., Stanley Douglas and wife, Deborah, of Vernon, Conn., and Dwight Graham and wife, Kathy, of Groton, Conn.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Helen; his sister, Emily McDonald; and a grandson, Christopher Graham.
