AUBURN – Funeral services honoring the life of Hazel Stevens were held Thursday morning at the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son, with the Rev. Richard Kimball presiding. During the service, words of remembrance were shared by Hazel’s daughter, Elaine Higgins, and Hazel’s granddaughter, Kathleen Adams.
Hazel’s favorite song, “Somewhere My Love,” was played in her honor during the service. Following the funeral home service, a reception of fellowship was held at the AMVETS Hall in New Gloucester. Burial with committal prayers will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the new Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
