SOUTH PARIS – Edgar Robert Hinkley, 71, of Sumner died Wednesday, April 11, at Market Square Health Care following a short illness.

He was born in Campbellsport, Wis., on Sept. 30, 1935, the son of Howard and Marie (Adams) Hinkley.

Edgar served his country in the U.S. Navy as a communication specialist, retiring in the late 1970s. He moved to Sumner with his late wife, Janet, in the early 1980s. She died on Nov. 4, 2006.

Edgar is survived by a niece, Nettie Therrien and her husband, Raymond, of Hudson Falls, N.Y.; a great-niece; and a great-nephew.
