LEWISTON – Sylvia Arno, 71, of Turner died Friday, April 13, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 9, 1935, the daughter of Arthur L. & Beulah (Allen) French and was educated in Turner schools, graduating from Leavitt Institute in 1953.

Sylvia was very active in quilting groups for many years, and had been president of the Maine State Quilters Association for two terms.

Sylvia is survived by her husband, Roland Arno, of Turner; one daughter, Kathryn Conant and her husband, Phil, and their children, Brock and Mac, all of Turner; and one son, Kevin Arno and his wife, Penney, and their children, Nicholas and Candice, all of Windham.

She was predeceased by one sister, Jean Shaw.
