PORTLAND – Allen Douglas Dobson, 57, a resident of Royal Road in Pownal, died Tuesday, April 17, at Mercy Hospital following a long illness.
He was born Jan. 15, 1950, in Portland, a son of Clinton and Geneva (Baker) Dobson Sr.
He was educated in Yarmouth schools.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict from 1970 through 1972.
He was a self-employed carpenter in the Yarmouth/Pownal area for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman, and he enjoyed being outside, fishing and hunting.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Survivors include three daughters, Paula J. and her husband, William Jefferies, of El Paso, Texas, Patricia L. Dobson and her fiancé, Shane Cheetham, of Sabattus, and Penny R. Smith of Lisbon Falls; four brothers, Clinton Dobson Jr, Richard Dobson Sr., John and Michael Dobson; two sisters, Rosie Hamel and Gloria Olmstead; and five grandchildren, Ashley and Shana Cheetham, Elysabeth and Mason Jefferies, and Owen Smith.
