LEWISTON – The Maine State Organization, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 27 to 29, at the Ramada Inn.
Presiding during the conference will be Donna Hoffmann of Bucksport, state DAR regent. Special guests and speakers from the National Society DAR will be Historian General Cindy Phillips of Madison, Miss.; Treasurer General Bea Dalton of Exeter, N.H.; Connecticut State Regent Caroline Taylor of South Windham, Conn.; and Massachusetts State Regent Mary Andrews of Berkley, Mass.
Activities will include a treasurer’s forum, meetings of the executives and board of management, a memorial service for deceased members, reports of state officers, chairmen and chapter regents.
An awards banquet will be held Saturday evening when state winners of the DAR Good Citizens program and grade school winners in the American history and Christopher Columbus essay contests will be introduced and presented their awards.
Serving as hostess chapters will be: Koussinoc of Augusta, Catherine Bliss, regent; Mary Kelton Dummer-Patience Stanley of Hallowell, Donna Tiemann, regent; and Old York of York, Shirley Peverly, regent.
