The curtain opened as Lewiston High School’s prom fashionistas strutted their stuff down the runway. The crowd was booming, the models were glowing, the video cameras were zooming, and the cameras were flashing. Lewiston High School’s 2007 Prom Fashion Show was not something to miss!
From teachers playing leap-frog in prom dresses and tuxedos to one’s moonwalk across the runway, Lewiston’s cafeteria held this year’s main event. Girls adorned dresses in every color of the rainbow from red to lime green, yellow to bubblegum pink, and silver to royal blue. The boys looked equally dashing with suits to match and killer smiles that they flashed to the audience with the turn of each step. There were white tuxedos, black tuxedos, dresses that scooped to a low V in the back, and an amazing dress that looked straight out of the eighties. The girls sported curls galore as some of the men were found in oversized shades. The students of LHS did nothing but please the crowd.
The students were stunning and the teachers were stunning, as couples pranced down the runway to the pulsating, vibrant beats put together by the ultimate (and tres chic) Lauren Rodrigue, fashion show coordinator. Men twirled and dipped their ladies, while ladies grabbed their men by their neckties, slinging their suit jackets over their shoulders. Some models stopped for a thoughtful pose basking in their glory as others posed with their partners back to back. The teachers even got the crowd going as some whispers erupted behind me, “I’ll volunteer to stay after school.”
As the show ended and each student made their way to the runway, strutting their stuff one last time, the crowd grew increasingly enthusiastic. Amber Auger, a Lewiston High School senior, looked at me with bright eyes proclaiming, “Now I just want to go prom dress shopping!” The night could not have gone better.
At the end of the night guests walked away with prizes from Berube’s Auto Center, The Hairem, Sarah Jeannes Family Hair Care, Cloud 9 Day Spa & Wellness, The Formal Image, Margarita’s Restaurant, Marco’s Restaurant, DaVinci’s Eatery, and Lewiston High School’s Class of 2007. The show was sponsored by Caldwell’s Wedding Plus, The Formal Image, The Hairem, Cloud 9 Day Spa & Wellness Center, and Blais Flower Shop. Prom’s just around the corner, kids, and it is time to start shopping!
